Busy-ness

Today has been another busy day. I took yesterday to rest, as usual. I'm glad God appointed us a day of rest! I need it very desperately during the school year. Today I felt ready to go again! I even made a new game for my developing readers. They will pull a craft stick out of the Lay's stackers can (that has been cleaned, of course) and read the phrase on it. When a student pulls a "Banger!" stick, s/he says BANG! and everyone returns his/her sticks to the can to start over. I think the children will love this one while learning at the same time. Play is children's work, you know!

Rodney had to work this evening, but I made his breakfast and we sat on the porch for a while watching the hummingbirds. I'm not sure why the hummers are still here...maybe they're just passing through on their way south. The Purple Martins have been gone since August 4th or 5th. Mosquitos abound now. :(
